Founded in the seventh century, Dubrovnik has always been well known for its merchants and craftsmen. This aristocratic and democratic city-republic is one of the most beautiful places in the world and it is visited by millions of people every year. The world known writer and the founder of double bookkeeping, Benedikt Kotruljević, once said: “He who has a vocation, has a secure life!” – so it has become our school motto.
Our school for Economy and Trade was founded in 1913 by a decision of the Viennese Ministry of Education is a vocational school. The school provides students with education in the sectors of economics, trade and business administration for the professions: economist, commercialist, business secretary, administrative officer in a 4-year program and shop assistant in a 3-year program, for aproximatelly 350 students per year.
The students complete their secondary education by writing and defending their final thesis and thus acquire their first profesional rank, which enables them to be included in the process of employment and work.
All the school activities are aimed at developing and achieving basic competences of students important for lifelong learning: communication in mother tongue and foreign language, basic competences in science and technology, digital competences, social and civic competences, entrepreneurship and initiative, developing cultural awareness and creativity. We are proud to have marked the 100th anniversary of our school in 2013.

It is a school of highly motivated teachers who use innovative and creative teaching methods and satisfied students adaptable to the labor market, ready for lifelong learning and capable of continuing education.

We want to enable professional practice for students of secondary vocational schools in the fields of banking and finance in order to develop their professional competences not only for professional but also for their personal life, teachers and students will achieve a better way of teaching in accordance with world trends.
